Health Considerations
Dobradors can inherit dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and Wobbler Syndrome from the Doberman side, as well as hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, and bloat from either parent. Dobermans also carry a higher-than-average risk of von Willebrand disease (a bleeding disorder). Cardiac screening is critically important — DCM in Dobermans is a leading cause of death. Regular cardiology checkups are strongly recommended.
